The Greeting Farm challenge

I just love The Greeting Farm! I think their stamps are just too cute. I love the cheeky line. I recently discovered their blog. Every week they have a new challenge and I decided to play along for the FFF challenge! This challenge was to use lace and pearl. I decided to use Birthday Anya with a little lace, a few pearls.....I used some holographic embossing powder on her cake icing, and paper pieced her dress. I kept it pretty simple and I like the way it turned out.....

Ol fashioned Washboard.....

Okay, I am constantly in Goodwill scouting for an awesome deal and I have found a bunch. My project was this old washboard. I unfortunately did not get a before shot as I moved my craft room and could not find my camera. It was just brown and one side at the top had the original advertising and the other someone had painted a scene of an old mill.....so I used gesso over all the wood and painting. I then painted it warm white with mint julep on top and did some distressing/sanding and embellished it....voila

This will look beautiful in my laundry room!

Dream

I am altering like crazy lately and wanted to share my small project. I went to Michaels and found a clearance wooden frame for 1.49. I brought it home and used some beautiful fold art paint in calypso sky and warm white with a crackle glaze.....I added some flowers and the phrase "Dream" I used some chipboard and my hot glue gun to make a kickstand for the frame....it turned out lovely in my foyer.........

Altered Canvas

I was feeling nostalgic I suppose and decided to alter a canvas with an older picture of Aiden....we are talking circa 9 months. I will not forget it. It was his very first 4th of July and very first cupcake....
I love altering things and loved altering this canvas with a mix of paints, flowers, textures, metals, etc.

Graphic 45 Secret Garden mini in a book....

I just love Graphic 45 papers. I decided to make a mini album in a book....
I started with the papers, some chipboard, and a paper mache book.....
Mind you I am not done embellishing and I need to add pictures but you get the idea.....

I love the cover!

The shabbies on the spine are lime green!

Each page has a pocket you can add goodies into!

It fits perfectly into the book....

Tulle Flowers

So I decided to make some easy tulle flowers. All you need is a circle punch, card stock, tulle, scissors, hot glue, centers, and any ink sprays if you want to dye your tulle.

So I started by using my circle punch to get a circle you can use card stock or felt. Then I began cutting strips from my roll of tulle that are about 2" wide. You can get 3 squares from each strip and you need about 36 squares.

I then placed my squares in a baggie and sprayed in the ink and squished it around to make sure it was covered then let it dry...

I then pick up 3 or 4 squares and stack them. Then I fold it into a triangle and then fold it again and it should look like this....

Then you want to use a little hot glue to glue the point down on the circle...repeat this process, each time you glue it down at the halfway point of the other circle. Keep going till you reach the end and then add your center....easy as that. I even made one from petticoat netting....

A new sweater

So being a toy breed Charlie gets cold a lot. As much as I love to have him in my lap, sometimes this is just not possible so I decided to make him a sweater...no pattern. Here goes....
I used size 6 and size 8 needles. I started with a worsted weight yarn and the size 6 needles and loosely cast on 40 stitches. I switched to size 8 needles here and knit a rib mock turtleneck collar in a *K2, P2 pattern until it measured about 2.5 inches. then I measured his back from his neck to just above his tail. Then I did a plain old garter stitch until I was 2 inches shy of my measurement, switched back to the size 6 needles, and finished out in the *K2, P2 rib pattern and BO.
To do the chest piece I measured between his two front legs. I cast on 3 stitches on my size 6 needles and increased 2 stitches every other row. I did the increases as my second stitch and next to last in the increase rows. Once you reach your measurement measure from the front of the neck until the rib cage stops. I knit in garter stitch until I was 1" short of my measurement and then did the final inch in the *K2, P2 rib pattern and BO. Now it's time to sew it up....
I seamed the mock turtleneck together and when I got to where I started the garter stitch I placed in the chest piece where it started with 3 stitches. I seamed it together until the part where your increases stop and leave about a 2" opening on each side for your pets legs...just do this to both sides and viola!
